City of Fairfield Council Member Place 1 James Tyus resigned at the Tuesday, Aug. 26, special called Fairfield City Council meeting. The council will appoint someone to fill the position at a later date. At election time, the position will be up for election.
The council voted to make the proposed ad valorem (property tax) tax rate .351747 for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
A resolution was approved to set a formal public hearing for the proposed tax rate and to vote on the tax rate on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 5:30 p.m. at the Fairfield City Hall.
