The Teague Lions defeated the Ferris Yellowjackets 5137 on Friday night, Sept. 12, to move to 2-1 on the season.
“One of our goals this week was to start faster than we had in the first two games. We did a great job of that by jumping out to a 16-0 lead,” Head Coach Zachary Linscomb said. “I was very pleased with our effort and energy throughout the game. We had a lot of guys that had to step up this week or move around a bit, because we had some guys out. Those guys that had to be called on did a great job of preparing themselves during the week to be ready to play on Friday night. Our guys just kept swinging all night long, even when Ferris would hit us with a play, we didn’t flinch and just counter punched right back.”
The Lions had a total of 307 rushing yards. Ny’land Coaster led the way with 196 yards. Jayden Brown had 42 yards, Mario Cuevas 37 yards, Garrett Winkler 13 yards, Brayden Leija 10 yards, and Kade Kormos 9 yards.
