Eagles Defeat Brownsboro 53-20

Eagles Defeat Brownsboro 53-20

The Fairfield Eagles traveled to Brownsboro on Friday night, Sept. 12, and brought home a big 53-20 win over the Bears. The game lasted three and half hours and there were a plethora of flags throughout the game, 43 to be exact. Fairfield had 15 penalties as Brownsboro had 28 penalties.

“I’m proud of the boys for the way we came out and took control of the game in Brownsboro,” Coach John Bachtel said. “I felt like we controlled the trenches and allowed our athletes to have a big night. I was really excited the way we ended the first half. Brownsboro scored with 1:10 left in the first half. We took the ball with no timeouts left and scored. Kicked off to them. Darion Weatherall sacked the quarterback and caused a fumble. Brayden Thornburg recovered. Then we scored again before the first half ended.”

The Eagles took a 26-0 lead before the Bears earned two points on a safety. Fairfield took a 39-8 lead at halftime. The Eagles outscored the Bears 14-12 in the second half to bring home the road win.
