No Room for Hate

Just this past week, a young man’s life was snuffed out in the very presence of thousands of college students whom he had come to see and to speak to. His name was Charlie Kirk and he was the president of an organization that he had founded that has been turning the hearts of young people all over the world to Jesus Christ. His organization is Turning Point USA. This one young man, husband to a loving wife, father to two precious children, had but one goal in his life, and that was to turn the hearts and minds of young people, high school, college, those in their early twenties, and anyone who would listen to him, towards trusting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. With his love, his intellect, his wisdom, his care, his way of listening and debating anyone who wanted to debate him. He didn’t care where they came from, that is, where they were in their understanding in life, he was always willing and ready to share the love and wisdom of Jesus Christ with anyone who would listen. He was asked on several occasions what he wanted to be remembered for if he were to die, and his reply was always, “I want to be remembered for my faith.” That faith touched many people. Even atheists are now turning to the Lord and to the church because they want to “join his movement and share Jesus with the world as he did.”

But something took his life at that occasion, in front of thousands of students, and that something was hate, evil in one of its most corrupt forms, and with a bullet, hate took Charlie Kirk’s life, yet, hate did not take away his message. In fact, hate only gave new life to Charlie’s movement, and now, that movement of spreading Christ’s love has come alive like never before. I’m sure we will be hearing more, much more, in the days, months, and years to come.

Long ago, on a hill called Golgotha, the religious leaders of the day thought they had taken out the life and message of the love of God. That love, love incarnate, had a name, and that was Jesus Chirst, the Messiah and Savior of the world today. His life and message is louder than it ever was when Jesus walked this earth, and people the world over are still giving their hearts and lives unto Him for salvation and a change of heart and life.
