Graveside services for Dorothy Fitzgerald, age 97, will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Shanks Cemetery near Kirvin. Bro. Roy Prather will officiate. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Mrs.Fitzgeraldpassedawayon Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Teague Nursing Home. She was born in Teague on July 12, 1928, to William Tracy and Beulah Moore. Dot married John William (J. W.) Fitzgerald on June 9, 1950, and shared over sixty-eight years of marriage together until being separated by his death on Oct 24, 2018. Mrs. Fitzgerald was a member of a bowling team in her younger years, and also active in the Teague Garden Club. She enjoyed reading and cooking, but most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved God, her children, and grandchildren, with all of her heart. Dorothy was a loyal member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague and very active in numerous ministries for many years. She is survived by two sons, John Michael Fitzgerald & wife Melanie and Patrick William Fitzgerald & wife Cathy; three grandchildren, Evan William Fitzgerald & wife Rebekah, Kyla Elizabeth Fitzgerald Cagle & husband Alex, and Todd Lemons; two great-grandchildren, Penelope Lynn Fitzgerald, and Travis Lemons & wife Laynee; other relatives and friends.
