The Teague Lions traveled to Mexia on Friday night and defeated the Blackcats on their Homecoming night 1413. The Lions move to 3-1 on the season.
“I am very proud of how our guys and that we found a way to overcome a lot of things not going our way and still finding a way to come out with the win,” Coach Zachary Linscomb said. “We told them at halftime that if we shut them out in the second half that we would win the game. Defensively we bought into that and were able to make it happen.”
The Lions had 139 rushing yards. Ny’land Coaster led with 78 yards, Jaden Cole 28 yards, Mario Cuevas 18 yards, Brayden Leija 14 yards, and Blake Maggard 1 yard.
