Back in the 1970’s, NASA sent out two satellites, Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 into outer space. Voyager 1 was sent in 1977 and it was only supposed to last for five years. Once its “juice” ran out, it was to continue drifting into space and would be seen as nothing more than drifting space junk. But something has happened that NASA never counted on, it has started sending back transmitted data from deep into interstellar space. Its original mission was to capture pictures of Jupiter and Saturn as it flew past these planets, sending back images of the moons that surround these planets. Both Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 carry with them a golden record, a 12 inch gold plated copper disk containing sounds and images intended to portray life on planet earth to any “extraterrestrial civilizations that might encounter them”. Neither one of these satellites were ever intended to return to earth. They were to just keep drifting until their power ran out, making them nothing more than nonfunctional space junk. But for some reason, not designed by NASA to do so, their computer systems, which were far less than the early models of home computers, you know, the bulky, box-like computers that sat on their own computing systems, were limited in what they could send back. Yet something has happened to the surprise of our Space Agency! Voyager 1 has begun transmitting back messages that can only be interpreted by scientific data systems that are new to NASA’s detection and it has begun to change its own trajectory, not the one set by our scientists, but a new path that has changed on its own! It is a complete mystery to them why and how all this new data and this new direction has taken place.
As to how far these two satellites have gone, to coin a word from Captain Kirk of Startrek, “They have gone to where no man has ever gone before!” They truly have entered into the outer reaches of outer space, going farther than any man-made space trajectory has ever gone before, plus they are well past their intended times of existence. They were to only last for five years, not for the more than 50 years that they are continuing to operate. You have to wonder what is changing their behavior and what is causing their trajectories to change positions? Now folks, I don’t have an answer to these questions, and I don’t believe it’s any “space aliens” out there communicating with them, as much as we would like to believe it so.Therefore, I wonder if it might be God Himself? Listen, if God can make a donkey talk, and a whale to swallow and spit up a man, and if He can change time so that time goes backwards and not forwards, don’t you think He might could communicate through some satellite? I’m just asking?
In 2 Corinthians 12:1-4, Paul speaks about a vision he had in which he says he “was caught up into the third heaven, whether in body or in his spirit only, the vision was so great and so grand that it was beyond description. Only God knows exactly what happened.” The Hebrew concept of the heavens was that there were three heavens, the first is the heavenly sphere of things on earth, where you and I live. The second heaven is the stars and skies where the sun, moon, and planets find their homes, and the third was considered to be where God has His kingdom, but let me assure you that no man nor any machine will ever reach that portion of heaven. However, it is possible for you and I to get to His Heavenly Kingdom. Just as Jesus told the thief on the cross, “Of truth, today you will be with Me in Paradise,” so He says to you and me, “Do not be troubled. You trust in God, trust also in Me. There are many rooms in my Father’s home, and I am going to prepare a place for you. If this wasn’t true, I would have told you so. But it is true, and when everything is ready, I will come and get you so that you will always be with Me.” So how do we get to His Kingdom? Only by faith in Him as our Lord and Savior. He said, “I am the Way to heaven, I am the Truth about heaven, and I am the Life of heaven. No one can come to the Father except by faith in Me.”
