Floys Dean Coleman Little

Floys Dean Coleman Little, age 97, passed away on September 14, 2025, at Teague Nursing home. Mrs. Little was born on May 4, 1928, in Kirvin, Texas. Funeral Services were held Friday, September 19th at 2:00 p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home with Bro. Roy Prather and Steve Cowart officiating. Interment followed the service at Woodland Cemetery in Kirvin. Visitation was held prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Flossie graduated from Kirvin School in 1945 and attended North Texas University for two years. She went to work for Southwestern Bell in Dallas and lived with her sister Beth Christian helping her with her 3 children Sarah, Travis, and Jerry. Flossie married Jerrel Little after his return from service on Easter Sunday, April 13, 1952. They shared over 67 years of marriage. She was a member of 8th Ave. Baptist Church for over 73 years, serving as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was an example of a faithful, Christian mother and grandmother. She was proud of her career working for the Selective Service System for Freestone, Limestone, Anderson counties, Farmers Home Administration, and as the Deputy District Clerk for Freestone County until her retirement. She and Jerrel had a large garden providing peas, corn, and tomatoes for family, friends, and members of the community in need. They spent many hours over the years in the garden. She cooked lunch every Sunday for her family and of course we had peas, corn, and tomatoes. Many memories were made at our Sunday lunches. In her retirement years she stayed busy reading her Bible, gardening, crocheting, sudoku puzzles and watching sports and game shows. She is survived by her son, David Little and wife Vickey; daughter, Dana Minefee; grandchildren, Kristin Skinner and husband Clint, Jeremy Little and wife Adrian, Ashley Shannon and husband Chris, Cliff Minefee and wife Kim; great-grandchildren, Tori Skinner, Kamron Barker, Brice Skinner, Hudson Little, Sutton Little, Brynn Little, Kaden Minefee, and Kross Minefee; stepgreat grandchildren, Payton Bolton, River Pendergrass, Cheyenne, Robert, Carissa, and Emma Shannon; her sister-inlaw Mary Ann Coleman; nieces, nephews, family, friends and Sunday School teacher Barry Nitcholas and her pet White Dove. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerrel Little and infant daughter; her parents, L.C. & Sallie Carter Coleman; siblings; John Alfred, Edwin, Jim Wallace, Randal David, Joe Carter, and Furney; her only sister Beth Christian. Pallbearers are Jeremy Little, Clint Skinner, Brice Skinner, Kamron Barker, Hudson Little, Chris Shannon and Cliff Minefee. Special thanks to Teague Nursing Home and Reliant Hospice. Memorials may be sent to Eighth Ave. Baptist Church
