American colonists fought, sacrificed and died to establish and preserve the freedoms now guaranteed to us by the Constitution of the United States.

The Jonathan Hardin Chapter, NSDAR, is celebrating Constitution Week, Sept. 17-23. This commemorates the signing of the Constitution of the United States 237 years ago.

Constitution week began when in 1955, when President General of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Gertrude S. Caraway, adopted a project to promote the observance of the U.S. Constitution with a memorial week beginning on the anniversary of the signing of this document, Sept 17.
