Fairfield continues their undefeated roll; Mexia retains the Battle of the River trophy, and district play continues this week.
Friday night was kind of surprised filled. Many had Groesbeck picked to win the BOTR game, especially with so many players sidelined for Mexia, but the Blackcats had a lot to say about that. The Fairfield Eagles are soaring their way to a possible undefeated season. They still have a future showdown with undefeated Palestine Westwood in the near future, that will decide – or should decide – who goes into the playoffs with the No. 1 seed. Lots to break down this week, so let’s get started.
District 9-3A DI Huntington Red Devils (0-1, 1-5) at Fairfield Eagles (1-0, 6-0) Eagle Stadium 7 p.m.
