Dorrie Cobb, a native of Freestone County, has established herself as a seasoned artist with exhibitions in Tyler, Frisco, and Shreveport, Louisiana. This month, she will finally display her talents to her hometown community, starting on October 23, with an exhibition titled “Journey Through the Petals” at the Trinity Star Arts Council in downtown Fairfield.

Born to Felipe and Cookie Gaitan, Cobb graduated from Fairfield High School in 1992. After graduation, she pursued her artistic passions through music in Nashville. During this time, she wrote new music, performed with various bands, and eventually returned home to build her family.

While raising her four children with her high school sweetheart, Paul, she cultivated her talents in both music and painting. She joined her local church, where she served as a praise and worship leader. As a stay-at-home mom, she sought ways to contribute to the family income, and her passion for painting resurfaced. She began posting her art on social media, and the community eagerly awaited her newest projects.
