Thankfully, unlike last week’s writer/ Letter to the Editor, I am a Republican. The difference between the two positions is like daylight and dark, logic and nonsense, fact and wishful thinking, and reality rather than suspension of rational perception. Last week’s LTE was a usual listing of leftist positions, flawed, mostly false, indefensible when examined, and contrary to traditional American values, i.e. plainly un-American. The points attempted to prove are easily debunked as follows: Conservatives do not hold that opposing our views is deranged; it is merely insupportable by the facts of the issue. The writer states that we oppose education and healthcare for Americans. Nonsense! Our public education system has been hijacked by teachers’ unions to the detriment of kids, most of whom perform well below acceptable standards and far below comparable kids in Europe and Asia. Fact: U.S. Charter schools far outperform public ones in reading and math in large U.S. cities (all under Democratic Party administrations). American health care is woefully hobbled by the fact that medical practice and pharmacies are mainly under the rule of insurance companies (ask your pharmacist).
Conservatives do not “strip women of their health care rights” in choosing abortion as birth control; we mostly hold that such action is a free choice under the law, not an inherent “right.” LiberaEls laud the Planned Parenthood organization, an oxymoron if ever there were one. That organization is not remotely about planning families and rearing children; it’s primarily a place to obtain information about abortion.
Conservatives rightly believe what is right in front of anyone’s eyes in the shower: there are two sexes (two genders) and one or the other was determined at conception. Gender by “identifying” as one other than one’s physiology proves it to be is as senseless as a 5’4” man “idemntifying” as 6’4” so as to impress women. Not so. There is no such thing as a trans-woman or trans-man. Conversion therapy and crippling surgery for 13-year olds are a travesty and do often lasting damage to their victims, emotionally and physically. Conservatives understand that President Trump has been indicted (accused, not convicted) many times by left-leaning, “progressive” judges. The U.S. Supreme Court continues to absolve him of guiltby- accusation. Like the President, I for one welcome the disdain and anger of imbecilic, woke delusionals. I especially enjoy deflating their specious arguments when I hear or read them.
