Dear Editor, Mark Twain one remarked (but with tongue in cheek), “Never let facts get in the way of a good story.” He was of course not serious, but presentday aspirants toward writing seem to have misread him. The truth of a statement is paramount. Last week’s pathetic attempt to slander President Trump and the Republican party is as usual, filled with false accusations and reality- defying statements. To wit: Policy: Policy is less important than the will to enforce it. Proof of this is past Democratic policy failures – War on Poverty (more Americans now on gov’t assistance than ever, including 2nd and 3rd generation families kept in a poverty cycle in return for voting Democrat).
Republicans invent problems, e.g., crime. Crime is a fact of life, and it’s aggravated by leftist big city administrations in “decriminalizing” street drugs for personal use, shoplifting under $750 (San Francisco), cashless bail for violent crime, etc. Conservative Republicans did not “invent” it; liberals make allowances for it. Republicans hate the military and held that it’s corrupt, especially in awarding medals to “undeserving” people like John Kerry. What utter NONSENSE! For a better, more clear picture of his deserving or not deserving a medal, solicit opinions online from Vietnam combat vets. Time and space here prevent a fuller depiction of Mr. Kerry. Law and order are obstructed by Trump’s roughshod methods. Hah! The sad state of affairs in crime-ridden big cities (all Democratic party run) is that local police resources routinely fail to prevent or manage law enforcement, to the detriment of the citizens they swore to protect. I have seen open air drug markets in D.C. They exist in other locales of course; the drug dealers have sound reason not to fear the police. Trump attacks all facets of our Justice system? All departments are corrupt; justice is impossible in America? What idiocy to anyone who can see and read! It was liberals who weaponized the IRS, the Justice Department (inc. FBI), see Trump / Russian collusion hoax, etc., Illegal migrants are categorically NOT migrants; they broke our laws to enter, but “woke” sanctuary cities welcomed them until their financial burden on taxpayers, as in New York City, became untenable.
