Funeral services for Mrs. Mancy Johnson, age 86, were held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. A private interment followed the service.Visitation was held on Monday with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Mrs. Johnson passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Ascension Providence Medical Center in Waco.She was born on July 30, 1939, in Ft. Worth to Jim and Margaret Martin. Her family moved to Teague in 1945 and she attended Teague school and graduated class of 1957 in Teague. Six months after graduating from high school, Mancy was married to Jay (Boomer) Johnson on November 30, 1957, and lived most of their lives and raised their family in Teague. She was a cancer survivor and thriver. Mancy played the piano for multiple churches and funeral services. She loved music and praising the Lord, through her gift. She played piano/keyboard for a praise band, Crossway.She served as Freestone County Election Judge for several years.Mancy was the recipient of the 1994 Bill Boyd Cup and was so proud as her father had been a recipient many years prior as well as her grandson Matthew. She cooked lunch for the rotary club approximately 15 years and cooked many years for the Teague Soup Kitchen. She cooked thousands of cookies for the Kairos Prison Ministry and made peach cobblers for the Teague Quarterback Club. She catered for weddings for many Freestone County Couples- including baking and decorating the cakes.She loved hosting dinners and parties, especially Christmas parties for family and friends.She was a member of the Teague Ambulance Auxiliary for several years. She made more than 120 prayer quilts, as well as quilts for children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.She knitted hats and lap throws for the cancer center and local churches.For many years she ran the Red Cross blood drives which included making homemade food and a lot of desserts. She made banners and table clothes for churches as well as decorating them for Christmas, Easter and other events.She loved sewing and going to Hobby Lobby and loved Texas Rangers Baseball. SHE HAD A TRUE SERVANT’S HEART AND LOVED DOING FOR AND HELPING OTHERS. WAS THE FIRST TO HELP ANYONE IN NEED. Mancy is survived by her husband of 67 years,
