Bi-Stone volleyball teams concluded their district season, with a few advancing to the playoffs beginning this coming weekend.
After a rough start to the season, the Coolidge Lady Jackets bounced back to go undefeated in district play, earning the team a spot in the upcoming playoffs. Both the varsity and JV volleyball teams closed out district play with wins over Penelope.
The Wortham Lady Bulldogs (17-13) were crowned district champs this past week, closing out district with a perfect 8-0 record and claimed the No. 1 seed from District 14-2A Region II. According to the school’s website, the Lady Bulldogs have been district champions 12 times since 1998; bi-district finalists 18 times, regional finalists nine times, and regional semifinalists once. Wortham has one of the most successful volleyball programs in the state.
