No big surprises in last week’s games, other than Teague upsetting No. 4 ranked Palestine Westwood Panthers at home Friday night, 42-20, in District 93A DI football. The Panthers will look to upset fellow Class 3A DI, No. 8 ranked Fairfield Eagles. Westwood will be playing at home.
In District 10-2A DII, it was the battle of the unbeatens between the No. 3 ranked Bremond Tigers and No. 6 Chilton Pirates. Bremond proved they are worthy to be in the Top 5 in Class 2A DII, beating the Pirates 48-22. It was the most points Chilton has given up all season.
After capturing the Battle of the River trophy, the Mexia Blackcats have lost their last two district games, scoring 25 points in total and giving up 123 to opponents.
