What’s Happening at Fairfield Library

The Fairfield Library’s board and staff would like to thank the City of Fairfield, Mayor Bobby Nichols, and Council members, for their commitment to provide additional funds supporting the library’s technology upgrade. The technology upgrade includes an upgraded network which delivers faster internet and Wi-Fi, and the ability for patrons to print directly from their phone. The eight-yearold Windows 10 computers are being updated or replaced with Windows 11, and the older Chrome devices are being upgraded or changed out as well. The council agreed to provide an additional $6000 to the library. The library continues to have great turn-outs on Wednesday mornings for their Pre-K Storytime. The weekly 10 am event includes a read aloud story by Robin Stearns, the Children’s Program Coordinator, or a special guest reader, and is followed up with a craft and a snack. Every Tuesday at 4 pm, geared for student age children, the library offers a 3D Printing class and chess lessons. The third Tuesday of each month includes a Lego event, and the fourth Tuesday includes an Art event. For the adults, the library offers a weekly Fiber Arts class on Fridays at 10 am, a Spanish/ English class on Tuesdays at 9:30 am, a Story Writing workshop on Wednesdays at 2 pm, and a bi-monthly Medicare Education class. The library has a Puzzle Swap event planned for November 13th, and Santa will be at the library on December 18th.More information is available at the library.
