Teague Senior News

Hats off to the wonderful staff in the kitchen at Fairfield Senior Center. They knocked it out of the park last week and this week looks as good, if not better. If you’ve not taken the time to come by and have lunch with us, mark it on your calendar. We serve Monday through Friday at noon we’re open 10 till 2:00. The fellowship or just getting away and having a nice lunch with friends will make a difference in the rest of your day. We have monthly menus available. We have Bingo every Wednesday right after lunch. We don’t have a $500 jackpot but we do have lots of goodies and always have a blast.

Well the rain came! I haven’t heard, but hopefully Park Fest was a success. I didn’t have the opportunity to go this year, and I knew it was scheduled. Last week, and all the rest of this week, Early voting was held at the Community Center on Main Street in Teague from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. After that, the regular election will be held on November 4th Tuesday. We have enjoyed getting to visit and share morning coffee and lunch with the election judges and workers. Like everyone else, I’m sure you are enjoying the cooler mornings, and lower temps in the afternoon.

Daylight saving time change is around the corner. Thank you to our special friends at the Center for their sweet donation and thoughtfulness. Thanks to Patsy Henderson for the large container of half and half creamer, Debbie McDonald for the Big Supply of Italian dressing. Thanks to Peggy who brought 2 sacks full of cookies for our morning group. I know where they hide them, but I won’t put that in this article. Thanks also to Barbara for the two boxes of assorted donuts last week. Her trip to Walmart that day paid off well for the rest of us! Ha. We’ll be hosting our end of the month birthday party and Halloween costume contest with games, drawings, prizes and lots of fun this Friday the 31st. If you are a deer Hunter, Bow our Gun, or have a Hunter in your family, please be careful and use safety. Don’t hunt alone, and stay safe!
