Several area teams in the Bi-Stone coverage area played in the bi-distrcit round of the 2025 UIL Volleyball playoffs, that began October 30. All three teams from Freestone County, Fairfield, Teague, and Wortham advanced to the Area round.
Just like clockwork, the Wortham Lady Bulldogs slipped past the Italy Lady Gladiators in five sets, after finding themselves down 20 early in the match. The Lady Bulldogs fought back, winning the final three sets to make the final scoring in Wortham’s favor. The Lady Bulldogs advanced to the Class 2A, Division II Area round and were scheduled to play the Riesel Lady Indians earlier this week. Riesel (2816) is the winner coming out of District 16-2A. Wortham (18-14) won District 14-2A, with a perfect 8-0 record.
The Fairfield Lady Eagles cruised to a 3-0 sweep over the Little River Academy Lady Bees in their Class 3A DI bi-district match last Thursday. Final score was 25-12, 25-14, 25-9, Fairfield winning with ease. The Lady Bees competed in District 19-3A, where they finished (6-4, 10-21) as the No. 3 seed from their district. The Lady Eagles had an unblemished 12-0 record in District 203A, and are currently 32-6 as they advance to the Area round. The fighting Lady Eagles were scheduled to play the Grandview Lady Zebras early this week. Grandview was the winner from District 18-3A, with a 12-0 district record, and are 30-10 overall.
