The Teague High School Marching Band competed in the UIL 3A Area D Marching Contest on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Robinson High School.
“The Mighty Teague Lion Band competed very well and put on a stellar prelims show, but unfortunately did not advance to finals,” Band Director Cory Hiles said. “Words cannot begin to express how proud I am of these kids. They have been through so much from the beginning of the school to now; especially over these past few weeks and their resiliency and perseverance showed how much they overcame obstacles to rising above the challenges they faced. I just love them so much. They gave one heck of a performance Saturday and have nothing to be ashamed of.”
The selections in their performance were Game of Survival by Ruelle, Dies Irae by Verdi, My Body is a Cage by Gabriel, The Battle Within by Rise Above and Survivor by Destiny’s Child.
