Letter to the Editor - 2

Dear Editor, It’s pointless to trade letters with opposing letter writers unless there is an important political point to be learned. In a letter published October 16, under the title “More ‘Woke’ Disinformation” by El Sellers, there are many points to note, not the least of which is that in previous letters, Sellers was challenged to define ‘woke’ and was unable to do so … yet keeps using the term.

Sellers claims one (or more) of the “leftist positions” I espoused were “UNAMERICAN.” I challenge Sellers to SPECIFY what he means, and prove his claim. Calling someone, or their positions, UNAMERICAN is a horrendous insult, unless that particular charge is proven. For the record, I DENY being UnAmerican, and fiercely object to that charge. To Sellers I say: PROVE IT.

Here’s how that is done: I claim Trump is UNAMERICAN by violating his oath of office and the Constitution’s clear meaning. The Constitution charges the President to “take care the laws are faithfully executed,” yet Trump has pardoned violent criminals who assaulted policemen on Trump’s behalf, has buried investigations into wrongdoing by his allies (most recently, Tom Homan, his ‘border czar’), and has broken his promise to release the Epstein files, in action that is clearly protecting pedophiles. Further, Trump continually violates the emoluments clause, “no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State.” Trump has accepted a jet worth tens of millions of dollars from a foreign country, and Congress has not approved.
