I say “bull” since the more accurate adjective may be unsuitable for a family-oriented newspaper. A person who has lost his sight and cannot see suffers a terrible burden; a person who is sighted but refuses to see can be rightly judged a fool, not a tragic figure.
That said, I once again take issue with last week’s latest slanders from Buffalo: BULL: Trump and republicans are “determined to end public education.” Truth: they wish to salvage and restore it with higher standards, accountability, and meaningful grading. Our country’s public schools (Fairfield ISD excepted) do not even rank among the top 10% in languages, math, and science compared with European or Asian comparable schools. Charter schools routinely outperform traditional public schools in student scores; teachers’ unions invariably oppose them.
BULL: Single Payer and Medicare for All are the solution leftists prefer [i.e., let the gov’t administer healthcare instead of traditional medicine]. This is worse than a self-inflicted gunshot. The proof that this doesn’t work is the welfare state of medicine as practiced with Britain’s National Health Administration. There the government provides “free” health services to people except that a relatively simple knee replacement procedure entails a 24-month wait. Oh, and it’s not free; obscene tax rates fund it!
