The Fairfield Lady Eagles fell to the Grandview Lady Zebras in the Area Championship on Tuesday night, Nov. 4, at Robinson High School in five sets.

“What we built this season is something to be very proud of,” Coach Cathy Reeves said. “Every big block and kill, every hustle play, every practice - it all mattered. My girls grew as players, but more importantly, they grew as teammates and people. That’s what lasts longer than any scoreboard ever will. We cannot dwell on “what ifs”, but should focus instead on all of the amazing moments and memories created this year.”

Grandview won the first two sets 25-17 and 2521. However, Fairfield was not giving up and came back with 25-20 and 25-15 wins, to force a fifth set. However, the Lady Zebras came out on top with a 157 win to advance to the Regional Semi-Final. This is the second year in a row that Grandview has defeated the Lady Eagles in the Area round.
