Thanks to Roger Brooke for the assortment of fresh donuts for our morning group last Monday. A special thanks to Peggy for restocking the cookie supply. It seems to get lower each week. Still a mystery to all of us! We were closed on Tuesday, November 11th, in observance of Veterans Day. The weather was cold and windy as well. Roger and I were pleased to attend the Veterans Day program at Remembrance Park in Teague. Thrilled to see such a nice crowd in attendance. We can never thank our men and women who served and are serving in the military enough for their service. Freedom isn’t Free!
Everyone was pleased to see Sindra sponsoring Bingo last Wednesday. Sindra McLean represents Groesbeck, Mexia, and Teague LTC Nursing and Rehab. She filled the Bingo table with wonderful prizes. She does an excellent job calling Bingo and always makes it fun and interesting at the same time. Thanks to Aurelia and Debbie McDonald for their help setting up for Bingo and cleaning up afterward.
Thank you to Debbie Tugwell for stepping in and helping with the kitchen cleanup last Thursday. Her timing was perfect. I picked up our meals for the center in Fairfield, returned and delivered the route, then shared announcements and news with those in the dining room. I appreciate her stepping up and working so hard. I realize how much I missed her when she was there more full-time. Happy belated birthday, November 16th, to Pat Holliman, a dear friend of the center who used to visit us often. She was famous for her delicious homemade cakes. We miss her and are praying for a quick recovery from her recent fall.
