A coordinated effort between multiple law enforcement agencies led to the safe recovery of a runaway juvenile and the arrest of an adult male on Sunday, Nov. 23, according to the Fairfield Police Department.
Authorities were first alerted when Fairfield officers and Freestone County Sheriff’s deputies were notified of a female juvenile from Denton County who was believed to be traveling through the area in a white Ford pickup. Denton County officials were tracking the juvenile’s cell phone, which appeared to ping at the Whataburger in Fairfield. Officers responded to the location but were unable to locate the truck.
A short time later, law enforcement was dispatched to an unrelated call at Tractor Supply. Deputies with the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office arrived to assist, and while on scene they saw a white Ford pickup matching the earlier description parked in the lot. Officers approached the vehicle and made contact with the three occupants inside.
