Funeral services for Frances Persons Owen, age 83, were held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Bro. Ray Grissett officiated. Interment followed the services at Salem Cemetery near Freestone.

Visitation was held on Sunday with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Frances Owen passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the Teague Nursing Home.

She was born and grew up in Teague. Went to Teague Schools and was in the acapella choir.

She spent her whole life working either as a waitress, restaurant manager or a fuel clerk. During Freestone County Fair you might have caught her singing with the Jailhouse Band made up of local deputies.

She raised four kids on a working mom’s paycheck along while keeping a spotless house and meals on the table. She always had time to tell the younger kids, grandkids and even great grandkids made up “Little Suzy” stories that would include laughs and a lesson to be learned. She shared a love of music with her youngest son and a love of cars with her oldest. She shared many moments with her youngest daughter that laughter always prevailed. She loved her kids.

She was raised Baptist but as an adult chose Pentecostal as her faith.She is survived by her four children, Glynn Crossley and wife Gina, Vicki Dimiceli and husband Nathan, Wayna Harris and husband Don, and Jimmy Grissett and wife Stacey; grandchildren, Justin Grissett (Casey), Lacie Grissett (Lucas Porter), Josh Harris, Matthew Harris, Kala Janek (Ryan), Aaron Martin(Jessica), Callie Holliman, Hannah Dimiceli and Anthony Dimiceli; greatgrandchildren, Tanner, Sabrina, Sienna, Lilyann, Lacey, Jameson, Jaycee and Holli; special daughter by love, Belinda Holliman (Frank) & sister-in-law, Sue Persons; and many nieces and nephews and greatnieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Lillie Mae Persons; her siblings, Guy Persons Jr., Mary Ann Reeves, Pete Persons, and her first husband, Waylen Crossley.
