JOHNNY M. D AY
Funeral services for Johnny M. Day, age 70, were held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Teague. Bro. Scott Matthews officiates. Interment followed the services at Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation was held prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the church.
Mr. Day passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at his residence in Teague.
He was born in Teague on November 22, 1955, to Herbert & Dora Miller Day. Johnny graduated from Teague High School with the class of 1974, and attended Texas A&M before earning his bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University. He worked as a carpenter for many years with Tom Colins and later Mike Rawls. Johnny was an avid reader and especially enjoyed science fiction novels. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Teague and a member of the choir.
He is survived by his mother, Dora Day of Teague; one brother, Larry Day of Mexia; and numerous cousins.
Mr. Day was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Day and one sister, Paula Day.
