There will be several races for the upcoming March primary so it will be important for citizens to get out and vote. Newly appointed County Judge Lloyd Lane will be running for County Judge along with Jeff Looney and James Tyus. County Commissioner, Pct. 3 Richard McGowan will be battling it out with Jerred Swinburn. Will McSwane, County Commissioner, Pct. 2, is being challenged by Trent Harris. Constable, Pct. 3 LJ McAdams will be running against Robert Willis. Lisa Jendrix, Justice of the Peace, Pct. 4 is being challenged by Adam Minze. Freestone County Republican Party Chair Keith Turchi has a challenger this year, Linda Weldon. Unopposed positions include Justice of the Peace John Thorne, Jim Lawrence, and Cinnamon Archibald. County Commissioner, Pct.4 Clyde Ridge is also unopposed.
Also running unopposed are District Clerk Teresa Black, County Clerk Renee Gregory, County Treasurer Mandy Chavers, and District Attorney Brian Evans. For the Democratic party, Karen Daniels filed for Justice of the Peace; Pct. 3, Opal Opal Oliver for County Commissioner; Pct. 3, and Peter Harper for New County Chair. Precinct Chairs are Rae Lynch - 15, Leslie harper - 1, Eileen Hertel - 5, Beth Harrison 13, Sarah Wright - 4, and Natasha Lyle - 11.
