A flash flood on Wednesday night, May 1, and through the morning on Thursday, May 2, caused many schools in the area to close or have a delayed start on Thursday, May 2.
Both Teague ISD and Dew ISD closed for the day due to the flooding. Faith Academy of Freestone also closed for the day.
