Hutson Earns Fairfield EMS Star of the Year Award
Steven Hutson has earned the Fairfield EMS Star of the Year award.

Steven Hutson, Paramedic, has been named the Fairfield EMS 2025 “Star of the Year”, formerly held by Matt Foree. Fairfield EMS “Star of the Year” award is based on a vote of their peers, to recognize one’s service and duty throughout the year.

Steven currently resides in Waco, Texas with wife Meredith. Son of Larry and Shelley Hutson, grew up in Wortham, where he lived for 19 years and graduated from Wortham High School. Steven grew up playing multiple sports and showing pigs in the Freestone County Livestock Show. That simple upbringing helped shape his values early on. One lesson his father emphasized was, “It’s not what you say, it’s how you say it,” a principle that continues to guide my communication and leadership style.

Steven’s professional career began in August 2017 with Fairfield EMS. For Hutson, Fairfield EMS is more than a workplace; it is a legacy. Having spent childhood years “cleaning ambulances” at the station while his mother worked, he now serves alongside the same professionals who mentored him.
