Some Freestone County citizens are voicing their concerns over the solar farm coming to the area. Their concerns are that the solar farms are dangerous, harmful, and devalues properties.
Piedra Solar, LLC is a planned 282 MW solar generation project in Freestone County, Texas, developed by TotalEnergies. The project is situated at the 2777 Cotton Gin Area, with boundaries spanning along Farm-to-Market (FM) roads 1365 and 901.
The solar farm is approximately 3,000 acres and the process has been going on since 2022.
