At the Tuesday, Jan. 20, City of Teague Board of Aldermen meeting, the board voted to continue with the abatement procedures for the properties located at 421 Cypress and 513 Walnut Street. The board of aldermen authorized City Secretary Gay Pranger, the Public Works Department, and the Police Department to seek estimates for the costs of the demolition of the properties. No action was taken on the property located at the north west corner of North 4th Avenue and Cedar Street.
The council took no action on the code enforcement officer. They requested Teague Police Chief Dewayne Philpott to draft the job descriptions as well as the salary for the position.
The board approved the auditor’s presentation for the 2023-2024 financial audit.
