Fairfield Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) brought home 24 medals and a Chapter Recognition Award from the Regional FCCLA competition in Waco held Thursday, Feb 5., through Saturday, Feb 7.

“I am extremely proud of each of these students. We have a diverse group of students, some who have never competed in anything before and some who have competed in many extra-curricular activities. Some of them have stepped way outside of their comfort zone and challenged themselves to try something new, whether it be tests over concepts learned in class and independently, or speaking events requiring anywhere from 10 to 20 minute presentations followed by being interviewed by a panel of judges,” FCCLA Advisor Martha Holland said. “I am most proud of the way these students have come together and supported and encouraged one another (sometimes through sweat and tears) during both the preparation for the competition and the competition itself.”

Earning a gold medal were Bella Campise, Kaily Erler, Ava Gann, Solomon Growden, Dallany Pena, Paisley Robinson. Gold medalists advance to the State FCCLA Competition in Dallas April 9- 11. Campise, Erler, Growden, Pena, and Robinson advanced to state with their Etiquette Test. Gann scored a perfect score on her Creed, Mission, and Purposes Test.
