Albert Jr. Gallegos was named the Fairfield Police Chief following an executive session at the Fairfield City Council meeting on Tuesday night, Feb. 10. Albert has been serving as the Interim Fairfield Police Chief since Nov. 26 of this past year following the retirement of David Utsey.
“I am incredibly proud and honored to serve as your Chief of Police,” Gallegos said. “This appointment means a great deal to me, and I accept this responsibility with humility, gratitude, and a strong commitment to serving our community with integrity and professionalism.”
Gallegos has been in law enforcement for over 20 years. He came back to Fairfield in 2009 after his first daughter was born. He has been with the Fairfield Police Department for 16 years.
