The Fairfield Lady Eagles dominated the Grandview Lady Zebras 81-37 in the Area Championship at Corsicana High School on Friday night, Feb. 20, to advance to the Regional Semi-Final. The Lady Eagles defense was too much for the Lady Zebras as they forced numerous turnovers throughout the game.
“Our pressure defense has gotten better overall here at the end of district play and the last couple of games. We have made better decisions on where to trap the ball which turns into steals,” Head Coach Randy Barger said. “Our kids understand we have to play with confidence and energy and we hope we can keep that up.”
The Lady Eagles (29-4) matched up with the Hitchcock Lady Bulldogs (23-7) on Tuesday night, Feb. 24, at 6:30 p.m. at Navasota High School. The winner of the game advances to take on the winner of Little River Academy (31-5) and Pollok Central (29-7) in the Regional Championship on Friday night, Feb. 27.
