Teague ISD cancelled its school board election for May 2 at its Tuesday, Feb. 24, school board meeting. Only incumbents Debra Lawrence and Lovie Whyte signed up so no election has to be held. All board members were present for the meeting except for President Jeff Gonzales.
TISD Superintendent honored Kevin Smith as the Teacher of the Month, Carolyn Nanny as Employee of the Month, and Wayne Williams as Administrator of the Month for the month of February.
The board approved paying the bills as presented for $221,169.24 as well as the Early Resignation Incentive. The board approved not approving a resolution in the acting provisions of Senate Bill 11, dealing with prayer in school.
