The Fairfield Eagles defeated the Grandview Zebras on Friday night, Feb. 27, at Midway High School to bring home the Area Championship title. Fairfield advances to the Regional Tournament for the first time since 2012 when Coach Joey Worley was the head coach.
“I am extremely proud of these guys,” Head Coach Tyler Terry said. “I know this has been a goal for them for a long time and I’m so excited they are getting to check those boxes off.”
Fairfield (21-8) played Huntington (27-11) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, in the Regional Semi-Final. The winner will play the winner of the Mexia (23-14) and Orangefield (32-3) game later this week in the Regional Championship for a shot to advance to the State Semi-Final.
