Late on Friday afternoon, Feb. 27, Freestone County Sheriff Office deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle on west Hwy 84 for displaying an expired registration. Instead of complying with law enforcement and pulling over, the subject decided to evade the deputies.
The pursuit, with speeds of up to 110 mph, went to Mexia on Hwy 84, then back into Teague city limits, down Teague city streets, back onto Hwy 84 headed from Teague to Fairfield, then down CR 941. The subject was observed on two occasions during the pursuit, throwing out a white powder from the driver’s side window.
Law enforcement officers of the FCSO, DPS, Mexia PD, Teague PD, and Game Wardens, all became involved in the pursuit as it progressed.
