Lane Elected Freestone County Judge; Minze Defeats Hendrix for JP Position

Lloyd Lynn Lane, who was appointed the Freestone County Judge following the retirement of Linda Grant last September, was officially elected as the Freestone County Judge following the election on Tuesday, March 3. He collected a total of 2,164 votes to Jeff Looney’s 702 and James C. Tyus’s 286.

In a close race, challenger Adam Minze defeated Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 4 Lisa Hendrix 439 votes - 392 votes.

“I want to sincerely thank the voters of Freestone County for your support in tonight’s Republican Primary for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 4. Running this campaign has been an incredible experience. I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many hardworking people who care deeply about our community and about having a court that is fair, respectful, and grounded in the rule of law,” Minze posted online. “This victory would not have been possible without my family, friends, and the many volunteers who helped along the way. I am truly grateful for each of you. I look forward to continuing to work hard, listening to our community, and earning the trust of voters as we move forward.”
