The 2026-2027 Fairfield ISD academic calendar has been released and students will return to school on Wednesday, Aug. 12. Teachers along with other faculty and staff members will return on Tuesday, Aug. 4 and have six days of professional development before the first day of school. Monday, Aug. 3, is a comp day for faculty/ staff members as long as they have their EduHero courses completed that were assigned over the summer.
Monday, Sept. 7, is Labor Day and a school holiday. Thursday, Oct. 1, and Friday, Oct. 2, are staff comp days that follow the open week for football so there will be no classes. Monday, Oct. 12, is a staff professional development day. Elementary and Intermediate campuses will hold parent/teacher conferences on this day. The end of the first nine weeks is Friday, Oct. 9.
The second nine weeks will begin on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Friday, Oct. 23, will be an early dismissal day at 2:16 p.m. for the Huntington football game since it is a two-hour drive. Thanksgiving break will be held Monday, Nov. 23 through Friday, Nov. 27. The end of the second nine weeks is on Thursday, Dec, 17, and will be an early release day at 12:48 p.m. Christmas break is scheduled from Friday, Dec. 18, through Friday, Jan. 1.
