A guaranteed maximum price of $830,343 for the Fairfield Elementary bond project was approved at the Fairfield ISD school board meeting on Monday night, April 13. There were over 40 bids received on the project.

The project consists of construction of a new security vestibule in the elementary office area, a new awning in the front of the building and the alternate of a new awning on the east side of the building (where half of the car riders are picked up in the afternoons). This project will start this summer and be completed before the start of school in August.

Board member John Fryer said he was all for the upgrades, but did question the board if any of the new projects would have to be torn down if any type of consolidation of schools takes place in the future. He was advised that all of the upgrades were needed and would not affect possible future consolidations of schools.
