Election Day is Saturday, May 2, and there are several races taking place in Freestone County. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Overall, early voting totals across the area were low, so make plans to get out and make your voice heard.
Bobby Nichols is being challenged by Michael Daniels, Sr. for the City of Fairfield Mayor position. For the Fairfield City Council, Roger Keeton and Bill Freeman are running for Place 1 as Toni Abram and Kenny Hughes are running for Place 2.
Three candidates are running for only two positions on the Fairfield ISD school board. Candidates are Keith Whitaker, Kevin Benedict, and John T. Fryer.
