Teague ISD updated their 2026-2027 academic calendar at the Tuesday, April 28, school board meeting. All board members were present except for Justin Lee and Brian Bowers.
The changes made to the calendar were to remove the Accelerated Instruction (AI) days on March 31 and April 14 of 2027. TISD Superintendent Chris Skinner noted that some parents/guardians do not understand the importance of the day and do not send their children. He also pointed out that TISD does not get funded for AI days since all students are not present. March 31 and April 14 will become instructional days next year. However, there will be focus on small groups instruction on those days.
Skinner recognized Cheryl Tucker as the Employee of the Month, Tara Brown as the Teacher of the Month, and Ginger Self as the Administrator of the Month for the month of April.
