Assembly of God Celebrates Trask; Seeking Info on Teague General Hospital

Assembly of God Celebrates Trask; Seeking Info on Teague General Hospital
First Assembly of God in Teague

A birthday celebration was given to Pastor Spain Trask on Wednesday, May 13, at the First Assembly of God in Teague. Bro. Trask turned 83 years old and for the past 15 years, he has devoted his service of preaching and teaching to his congregation.

Bro. Spain’s wife, Bettye, who was from Fairfield, has worked by his side since he started out in his ministry. Upon their return to Fairfield, they have volunteered in multiple organizations within the community. Sadly, Mrs. Bettye passed away last December. Yet, Bro. Trask continues his teaching and volunteering.

The First Assembly of God Church building was originally the Teague Hospital. The church is seeking help in obtaining historical information on the hospital (when it was built, services provided, closure, and purchase by AOG). The original Teague General Hospital was a part of Teague’s history and efforts are in process to obtain enough information to submit an application to the State of Texas to establish the site as a local landmark.
