In March of this year, the Freestone County Sheriff Office responded to an armed robbery at the Road Ranger Truck Stop in Dew where four masked suspects entered the business and held up the attendant at gunpoint. Cash and merchandise were stolen by the suspects, who then sped away in a vehicle.
Through the investigation, led by Sgt. Weinmann, evidence at the scene resulted in identifying at least one of the four suspects and the issuance of warrants for his arrest.
With assistance of the US Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, the identified suspect was located and apprehended in the Houston area. The suspect is awaiting extradition back to Freestone County for the charges of: Aggravated Robbery and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity Use/Exhibit Deadly Weapon, both first degree felonies.
