Teague Senior News

Now that graduations and Memorial Day celebrations are behind us, let’s keep in mind to enjoy a safe holiday. As more young people are out of school, there will be increased traffic and pedestrians, so please stay alert. With family reunions and baseball games, parks and downtown areas will be busier than normal.

We are excited to welcome new volunteer drivers for Meals on Wheels! A heartfelt thank you to Eva Price for her help in recruiting Steve and Vicky Lackey from Teague. They delivered meals on Route 2 last Wednesday and shared how much they enjoyed helping out and serving the community. We truly appreciate Sue Allison for riding along and providing training. A special shout-out to Lesa Wells from Angels Care Home Health in Palestine, who always generously shares her time and knowledge with us each month.

We also want to remind everyone that we were closed last Monday to observe Memorial Day - a day dedicated to honoring the brave United States military personnel who lost their lives serving our country. Many volunteers and families take this occasion to decorate military graves with flags, creating a meaningful tribute. Thanks so much to all the volunteers and drivers at the center for stepping up and filling in for others this week.
