Summer has arrived early this year, huh? Please remember to stay hydrated for yourself, your pets, and your plants. Thank you to Debbie Tugwell for providing a removable spare attachment for our kitchen sink at the senior center. She is not only thoughtful but also very observant, always looking for ways to improve our center. She contributes not only by volunteering at the center but also as a dedicated driver for Meals on Wheels. Last Tuesday, we enjoyed lunch together, courtesy of Barbara, who brought delicious smoked sausage. Patti added her famous deviled eggs to the table. All this happened during our Tuesday bingo session! It was a great day to celebrate Hardy Henderson’s birthday! We asked him if he was “sweet 16,” but he responded that it was a long time ago. He didn’t say exactly how long. Thanks to Sindra McLean with Accent Care Hospice of Groesbeck for sponsoring Bingo last Tuesday. We all enjoy her calling. She enjoys calling bingo as much as we do playing. A big thank you to Mr. Durden Dixon’s lovely family for their wonderful gift last week—a tasty chocolate cake with white icing. Everyone really enjoyed it! As we mentioned last week, we are closed this Friday, June 19, for Juneteenth. Come by and cool off with a glass of iced tea. If you’d like to join our volunteer team for Meals on Wheels, it only takes one hour of your time once a week or as a backup when others are out, for Route 1 or Route 2.
