The Freestone County Sheriff’s Office was just advised of a new phone scam where the names of Sheriff Shipley and District Attorney Brian Evans were referenced during the call. The scammer used the name of Lt. Daniel Michelle, but there could be several different names used by the perpetrators. The phone number used was 903-915-4230 (We attempted to call it to no avail/not a registered number). The caller advises they are calling in reference to jury duty on a murder case.
