Fairfield ISD approved some stipends for its teachers at the Monday, June 8, school board meeting. Although there were no adjustments made to the salary schedule, there were $2,000 stipends added for STAAR tested subjects, and for Special Education teachers. There was also a $2,000 stipend added for Bluebonnet teachers, which is funded from the district’s LASO grant. A $300 ESL endorsement was also approved for those with their ESL certification.
FISD capped their monthly contribution for healthcare at $525 per month. Last year, the district paid $509 per month. This year, the cost for employee only insurance has increased to $555 per month.
FISD recognized the Regionals golf finalists as well as the THSBA State Qualifiers. Making it to Regionals in golf were the boys gold team consisting of Hudson Little, Aaron Evans, Brayden Thornburg, Will Zachry, and Brekan Carlson as well as girls medalist Haddie Owen. The FHS Fishing Team composed of Landon Morrison and Michael Zachary was also honored for placing 15th out of 185 teams at the THSBA State Tournament. Their Captain is Scooter Long.
