This past week was a very busy, but fun week at the 2026 Freestone County Fair. It was the 104th year of the Freestone County Fair & Rodeo. The board of directors did an outstanding job planning it. Thank you President Will Steen, Vice President Todd Craig, Treasurer Brent Holmes, Secretary Mallorie Swinburn, Keith Brockman, Michelle Welch, Marla Lookabill, Chuck Lopez, and Scott Wilkins for organizing a great week.
The Mexia Rodeo will be held this Thursday - Saturday, June 25-27. The 96th Annual Teague 4th of July Rodeo begins next Thursday, July 2, and continues through Saturday night, July 4.
Katy and I hope that everyone has a safe 4th of July this year. Summer is flying by way too fast. School will be starting again before we know it.
